a beautiful, thought-invoking meander of a game
It’s a short ride, but it’s one to be taken a time or two again - including an appreciation of its mesmerizing art style.
-Spoilers-
I really loved this! I liked how the directions would take you to trails that wound around, giving you a chance to explore the world even if you were laser-focussed on the plant (which I definitely wasn't, perhaps oddly) It took me a while to figure out the lizard tails (assuming that was what they meant and I'm not thinking about this all wrong), and I think that's a really clever puzzle. The art was beautiful and the story and worldbuilding definitely left me wanting to learn way more about this strange world.
I like the atmosphere, the only loop music is ok. The graphics are nice.
That's all for the positive. Despite the universe who like very cool, the game is empty. You just walk without any goal, you die without explanation.
I wanted to like it, but no, I have not had a good time playing it.
The art style is very immersive and the soundtrack is simple yet engaging.
A quiet, contemplative experience. Afterwards I sat quite still, watching a little bird sing to the world outside.
Beautifull artstyle I just had one go. Will replay it a few days from now. Really really liked the aesthetic and the idea.
I really enjoyed this game. It was a very creative little experience. I recorded my thoughts and playthrough here.
Thanks, it was great to hear your thoughts!
Beautiful and haunting. I really enjoyed it.
A really good game. The art style is beautiful, we enjoyed it very much.
Here is a short video we made while playing:
Keep up the good work!!!That was really really good. Congrats. Hope to see more in the future.
Thank you for your art. I look forward to more, I'm going to play The Gift next.
Oh my gosh this is so beautiful and evocative! I love that world feels so lived-in, but since you only get this brief glimpse, it feels huge and mysterious. Plus I think the UI is fantastic, I love the way the speech/interaction bubbles work. It reminds me a bit of Myst, in terms of "silent stranger wanders a foreign land and needs to work out how to navigate through it."
Made a video
Nice, thank you for the trip !It remembered me of Tiny Echo and Storyseeker at the same time haha.
I like your style, loved your games and I am looking forward for the next one !Keep up the good work !
PS : Is there anything to do after finding the plant, dying(?) and be the bunny guy for a moment ?
The mythological illustrations about the tentacled celestial creatures and their whorshippers along with the actual temple and monks is great material, I wished for more ! Do you plan to do another chapter for the Herbalist or was it all ?
What can I say... looks great. I downloaded it because of the style.
IDK if I understood the story though.
I missed stuff to do though. Now I know where to go, everything else seems rendundant, which is a shame. Once I got control of the archer bunny, I was looking forward to some lizard shooting or whatever .)
May I ask what software you used for the graphics?
Hey, thanks! Photoshop and TvPaint for animation
Lovely game. :)
PS For anyone watching, please consider subscribing for a copious amounts of indie games.I want more! <3
Looks cool. I'll give it a try.
Very nice game !
